Jane Austen 200 - Writing Competitions

1 Dec 2016

To celebrate Jane Austen 200 we are partnering with Hampshire Cultural Trust to launch two exciting writing competitions.

Adult Short Story Competition

To win a first prize of £1,000, we invite adults (16 and over) to send in a short story of 2017 words or fewer using this quotation from Mansfield Park as the title:

'Selfishness must always be forgiven you know, because there is no hope of a cure.'

Children's Letter Writing Competition

We are also inviting children (across Hampshire) in two age brackets, 7-11 and 12-16, to write us a letter of 400 words or under about a day in their life, real or imagined, addressed 'Dear Friend'.

Entry closing date: 28 February 2017. Good luck!
